  • 8 oz tequila preferably silver
  • 4 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 oz orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 2 oz jalapeño sliced, adjust for spice level
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup optional, for sweetness
  • salt for rimming the glass optional
  • lime wedges for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Cocktail
  1. Rim the glasses with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt.
  2. In a shaker, combine tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, sliced jalapeño, and agave syrup.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into the prepared glasses filled with ice.
  5. Garnish with lime wedges and additional jalapeño slices if desired.

Notes
