Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 3 pounds chuck roast trimmed of excess fat
Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
Buns
  • 4 pieces sandwich rolls or hamburger buns
Toppings
  • 1 cup coleslaw optional
  • 1 cup pickles optional

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Season the chuck roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Place the seasoned roast in the slow cooker.
Cook the Beef
  1. Pour the beef broth and barbecue sauce over the roast.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
Shred and Serve
  1. Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  2. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker to soak up the juices.
  3. Serve the shredded beef on sandwich rolls with optional toppings like coleslaw and pickles.
