Ingredients
  

For the Corn Dogs
  • 4 pieces hot dogs preferably beef or pork
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for coating
  • oil for frying vegetable or canola oil

Method
 

Prepare the Hot Dogs
  1. Insert skewers into each hot dog, leaving enough space for handling.
Make the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in milk until the batter is smooth and thick.
Coat the Hot Dogs
  1. Dip each hot dog into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  2. Roll the coated hot dog in panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
Fry the Corn Dogs
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully place the corn dogs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve
  1. Serve hot with ketchup, mustard, or sweet chili sauce.
