Danish Dough
  • 1 loaf King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 packet Active Dry Yeast ensure it's fresh
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Warm Milk for activating yeast
  • 2 large Eggs
Cheesecake Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest
Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk or Cream adjust consistency to liking

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the King’s Hawaiian rolls by slicing them in half horizontally and laying them cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the cream cheese filling by combining softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture generously over each roll half.
  5. Bake the Danish in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  6. Cool for a few minutes after baking before adding any glaze.
Glaze
  1. Whisk powdered sugar and milk together until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled Danish just before serving.
