Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 4 large croissants cut into pieces
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Swiss
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1 teaspoon mustard optional
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the croissant pieces, diced ham, and shredded cheese.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant, ham, and cheese layers.
  5. Let the casserole sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the egg mixture.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared the night before and refrigerated. Just add an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
