Ingredients

Flan Base
  • 1 cup sugar for caramel
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Method

Prepare the Caramel

  1. In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
Bake the Flan
  1. Pour the flan mixture over the caramel in the baking dish. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan filled with water (water bath). Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes, or until set.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the flan to cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. To serve, invert the flan onto a plate so the caramel is on top.
