  • 1.75 cups self rising flour or homemade self rising flour
  • 1.25 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg whisked for topping, optional
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning or your favorite bagel toppings, optional

Method
 

  1. Add the flour and yogurt to a large mixing bowl and mix until a thick dough forms. Add extra yogurt as needed.
  2. Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for a few minutes before forming it into a ball. Let the dough sit at room temperature for up to 10 minutes if desired.
  3. Cut the dough into four even sections, roll each into a ball, and poke a thumb through the center to form bagels.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the bagels on the sheet. Brush each bagel with egg wash and sprinkle with seasoning if desired.
  5. Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 22-24 minutes. For gluten-free bagels, bake an additional 5 minutes if necessary.
  6. Let the bagels cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack before serving.
