Easter Egg Cake Pops

Ingredients
  

Cake Base
  • 1 box cake mix any flavor
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Cake Pop Coating
  • 2 cups candy melts various colors for decoration
  • 1 cup sprinkles optional for decoration
Frosting
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese frosting store-bought or homemade

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Make Cake Pops
  1. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add the cream cheese frosting and mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into egg shapes and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.
Coat the Cake Pops
  1. Melt the candy melts in the microwave according to package instructions.
  2. Dip the end of each cake pop stick into the melted candy and insert it into a cake pop.
  3. Dip the cake pops into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off. Decorate with sprinkles if desired.
  4. Place the coated cake pops upright in a styrofoam block to set.
