  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha optional
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic minced
Salad Ingredients
  • 5 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 medium red bell pepper sliced into thin strips
  • 0.5 cup chopped scallions
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Method
 

Making the Dressing
  1. To make the dressing, stir the rice vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, sriracha, ginger, and garlic together in a small bowl.
Preparing the Slaw
  1. Place the cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, scallions, and cilantro into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the dressing to the mixing bowl, and toss everything well to coat the veggies.
  3. Taste test and adjust any seasonings to your liking.
  4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately or cover and chill.
