  • 1 lb confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 red sour strap for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Make a batch of your favorite cupcakes. Let cool.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine softened unsalted butter and confectioners' sugar. Mix on low speed until combined.
  3. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, then increase speed to medium and whip until fluffy.
  4. Prepare the red sour strap by tightly rolling it into a rosebud, loosely twisting and wrapping it around to form petals. Tuck the end underneath the rose and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Use a piping bag to frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream frosting.
  6. Finally, place the red sour strap rose on top of the frosted cupcake.
