Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 2 pounds Russet potatoes peeled and cubed
Dairy
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted
  • 1/2 cup milk whole or as desired
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Prepare Potatoes
  1. Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
  2. Add salt to the water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Mash and Mix
  1. Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.
  2. Add butter and milk to the potatoes.
  3. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing well.
Serve
  1. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving bowl and enjoy warm.
