Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
Dairy
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup whole milk warmed
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Prepare Potatoes
  1. Place the peeled and cut potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
  2. Add salt to the water and bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Mash Potatoes
  1. Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.
  2. Add melted butter and warmed milk to the potatoes.
  3. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher until smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing well.
Serve
  1. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving bowl and serve warm.
