  • 1 cup tomato puree creates a rich sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients for the chapati and spicy beans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour with water until it forms a soft dough. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, then let it rest covered for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic, ginger, and spices, cooking until fragrant. Stir in your beans and simmer for 10-15 minutes to absorb flavors.
  4. Divide the rested dough into equal balls. Roll each ball into thin circles on a floured surface until they're about 6 inches wide.
  5. Heat a tava or skillet over medium-high heat. Place rolled chapatis on the hot surface and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until they puff up and develop golden-brown spots.
  6. Once the chapatis are cooked, serve them warm alongside the spicy beans.
