Ingredients

Marinade
  • 2 lbs Flank Steak or Skirt Steak
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Oregano dried
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
For Serving
  • 8 small Corn Tortillas or Flour Tortillas
  • 1 cup Cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup Onion diced
  • 1 cup Pico de Gallo
  • 1 cup Avocado sliced

Method

Marinate the Steak
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, orange juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Grill the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
  2. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
  3. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
Serve
  1. Warm the tortillas on the grill for a few seconds on each side.
  2. Slice the carne asada and serve with tortillas, cilantro, onion, pico de gallo, and avocado.
