Ingredients

Marinade
  • 1 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
Toppings
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup lime wedges
  • 1 cup salsa optional

Method

Marinate the Steak
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
Grill the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F for medium-rare.
  3. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serve
  1. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve with chopped cilantro, diced onion, lime wedges, and salsa, if desired.
