Ingredients
  

Jalapenos
  • 10 pieces jalapenos sliced
Sugar Mixture
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for extra heat

Method
 

Prepare the Jalapenos
  1. Wash the jalapenos and slice them into rings, removing seeds if desired.
Make the Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Cook the Jalapenos
  1. Add the sliced jalapenos to the boiling syrup. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20-30 minutes until the jalapenos are tender and the syrup thickens.
Cool and Store
  1. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer the candied jalapenos and syrup to a jar for storage. Refrigerate for up to a month.
