Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Pecans
  • 1 cup pecans chopped and toasted
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter for toasting
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for coating

Method
 

Prepare the Ice Cream Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
Toast the Pecans
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the chopped pecans and brown sugar, stirring frequently until the pecans are toasted and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. During the last few minutes of churning, add the toasted pecans to the ice cream.
Freeze the Ice Cream
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
