- 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by slicing the ribeye steak as thinly as possible. If needed, partially freeze the meat for easier slicing.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the sliced onions until translucent and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside.
- Increase heat to high and add the ribeye steak to the same skillet. Season with salt and pepper; cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
- Lower heat slightly, place provolone cheese slices over the cooked steak, cover to melt for about 1 minute.
- Assemble sandwiches by spooning the cheesy steak mixture into hoagie rolls, adding sautéed onions (and optional bell peppers).
- Serve immediately with hot sauce if desired.
