Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with this easy-to-make Philly cheesesteak recipe. Perfectly toasted hoagie rolls are filled with tender, thinly sliced ribeye steak, gooey provolone cheese, and sweet sautéed onions. Whether you’re hosting a game day gathering or treating yourself to a delicious meal, this savory sandwich is sure to impress and satisfy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • 4 fresh hoagie rolls
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the ribeye steak as thinly as possible. If needed, partially freeze the meat for easier slicing.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the sliced onions until translucent and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside.
  3. Increase heat to high and add the ribeye steak to the same skillet. Season with salt and pepper; cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
  4. Lower heat slightly, place provolone cheese slices over the cooked steak, cover to melt for about 1 minute.
  5. Assemble sandwiches by spooning the cheesy steak mixture into hoagie rolls, adding sautéed onions (and optional bell peppers).
  6. Serve immediately with hot sauce if desired.
