Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherries thoroughly and remove the pits.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cherries, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Cook over medium heat until gently boiling; reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender or leave some chunks for texture.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
  6. Allow cooling before transferring to an airtight container; store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
