  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
  3. Marinate the beef in half of the marinade for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook marinated beef until browned (about 3-5 minutes). Discard used marinade.
  5. Bring remaining marinade to a boil, add cornstarch mixture, and stir until thickened.
  6. Pour sauce over cooked beef, toss to coat evenly, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
