Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk (warm)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Gradually add flour, salt, and melted butter until a soft dough forms.
- Knead Your Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Roll Out: Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread cherry pie filling evenly on top.
- Roll Up: Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Slice into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
- Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake: Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown on top. While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk until smooth.
- Serve Warm: Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
