- 2 tbsp butter, for greasing

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or knife for even cooking.
- In a bowl, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, pour half of the cream mixture over them, and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow cooling slightly before serving.
