- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 1 large egg
- 4 cups apples (peeled and sliced, preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add egg and combine. Press two-thirds of this mixture into the bottom of the dish.
- Toss apples with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon in another bowl until coated.
- Spread the apple mixture over the crust and top with remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Serve warm if desired.
