  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove it and drain on paper towels, leaving about 2 tbsp of drippings in the skillet.
  2. 2. Sauté the chopped onion in the skillet until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained beans, chopped bacon, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. 4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until bubbly.
